The Role:

On behalf of our client TRS Contract Consulting Group is looking for an experienced Help Desk Analyst Tier 1 / Tier 2 to join their dynamic environment.  Our client is looking for an energetic individual that considers themselves a team player to join this dynamic team.

 

Experience:


To be part of a team that provides first tier support (Helpdesk with Desktop Support Experience) to users in a local office for IT requests. The person in this position works with the Regional Technology Manager, the Technology Engineer, and the Vancouver Admin. Manager to ensure the goals of the overall office are met.

 

Key Accountabilities:

With the general direction and guidance of the Regional Technology Manager (RTM) and the Regional Technical Engineer (RTE), the Information Systems Analyst (ISA) is responsible for the following:

 

  • Managing LAN performance and maintaining LAN security.
  • Administering User access to the LAN along with trouble shooting reported problems.
  • Conducting housekeeping routines such as back-ups, restores, etc.
  • Responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting end user workstations, hardware, software and peripheral devices that are in line with company standards.
  • Working with external vendors, specialists, or Corporate IT personnel when there are problems with the LAN/WAN, specific servers and/or other peripheral devices.
  • Providing support to users for possible escalation. This also includes on-site diagnostics.
  • Planning and implementing software upgrades into the production environment. This usually involves working closely with the Corporate IT Department.
  • Using Corporate directed systems such as the System Care Notes Database.
  • Using the HEAT Helpdesk system to log all support request etc.
  • Maintains inventory of all computer hardware and software in local office.

 

Qualifications / Required Skills:

  • A certified program in Information Systems and 3 plus years of equivalent experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Good grasp of how technology can be deployed in a business environment to make an organization more competitive.
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of multiple operating systems environments
  • Familiar with the hardware components of a PC and able to perform troubleshooting on the system.
  • Software competency should include Windows 2000/XP, Office 2000/03/07, Lotus Notes 6, Active Directory, Outlook programming experience a plus.
  • Experience in supporting applications like Great Plains, Citrix, SQL Server and IIS server a plus.
  • IT Certifications (MCSE, MCSA, MCP, etc) are helpful.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
